How to use Twitter’s new feature “Group Direct Message”

Twitter finally implemented group direct message functionality in its January update. Similar to LINE and Facebook Messenger, it is now possible to chat with multiple people.
This time , we will explain the overview and how to use the Twitter group direct message function on PC and smartphone apps.

1.What is the Twitter group direct message function?

Twitter ‘s direct message was a feature that allowed users to exchange messages between accounts that followed each other, independent of their timelines .
Previously, only one-on-one conversations were possible, but with this update, it is now possible to have conversations with multiple people. There are no specific restrictions on the number of people, but when I tested it on an actual device, it seems that up to 20 people can be registered per group.
Also, unlike traditional direct messages, you can now register even if there are people in your group who you don’t follow. You can invite accounts
that follow you to a group, but you can’t invite accounts that are blocked by any account in the group.

P.S.
When inviting a group member, if you are a follower of someone, you can add them as an invited member. You can also add users midway through, but added users will not be able to see past interactions.
